Dr. Winna Gorham

 

Dr. Winna G. Gorham has been practicing Endodontics in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania for over 8 years.  She was born and raised in Norwood, Massachusetts, attending Norwood Public Schools, before graduating summa cum laude from UMASS Boston in 2004. Dr. Gorham earned her D.M.D. from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2008.  She continued at Tufts Dental where she earned her Endodontic Certificate and Master of Science Degree in Oral Biology in 2010. During her enrollment at Tufts Dental, Dr. Gorham received numerous awards and scholarships including the AADR Student Research Fellowship, the Dr. Harold Berk Endowed Prize Fund for Excellence in Research, the American Association of Women Dentists Colgate Research Award, the Lester P. Goldsmith Endowed Prize Fund in Endodontics, and the American Association of Endodontics/Dentsply Resident Award.

In addition to 8 years of clinical experience, Dr. Gorham has a background in research specific to malignant squamous cell carcinoma and dental pulp stem cells.  Her presentations include, “Stromal-Epithelial Cross-Talk Modulates Malignant Progression of E-Cadherin-Deficient Carcinoma Cells”, “Tumor Stroma Impact on Progression of E-Cadherin-Deficient Squamous Cell Carcinoma,” and “Human ES Cell-Derived Mesenchymal Cells Express Dental Pulp Cell Markers”. Her passion for Endodontics has led her to teach at both Tufts Dental and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.  She has lectured on the subject of pulpal regeneration at the Three Rivers Pennsylvania Dental Conference and to the post-doctoral residents at University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. 

Dr. Gorham has earned an excellent reputation for keeping her patients’ comfort in mind while providing exceptional endodontic care. Her communication skills, patience understanding, and ability to create a calm experience are strengths noted by patients in her many reviews. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Gorham enjoys yoga, reading, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog. She looks forward to reconnecting with Tufts colleagues and to meeting dentists in the area for the first time. She maintains memberships in the American Association of Endodontics, the Massachusetts Dental Society, the American Dental Association, and the American Association of Women Dentists.
