MEET Dr. Elizabeth McGough

 
 
Dr. Elizabeth B. McGough is an endodontist specializing in diagnosing and treating dental pain. A native New Yorker, Dr. McGough graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Honors Anthropology. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where she was awarded the American College of Dentists Outstanding Leadership Award. 
 
 
 
Dr. McGough went on to specialize in Endodontics, earning a certificate in Endodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. She was recognized for her clinical teaching as the recipient of the Dr. Joseph I. Tenca Scholarship award, and has remained involved in dental education by working for the platform MyDentalKey and by mentoring dental students. In addition to her passion for dental education, Dr. McGough has an extensive research background.  She is an Intel Semifinalist and has conducted clinical dental research at both Harvard and Tufts. Dr. McGough has studied craniomandibular development, and has worked in labs at The Forsyth Institute and MD Anderson Cancer Center. 
 
 
 
Dr. McGough is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. Beyond the clinic, Dr. McGough enjoys the sport of dog agility and playing or listening to classical music. She also enjoys crafting, reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. McGough is committed to compassionate care, effective communication, and treating each patient as an individual.
